About Our Conductor and Director

Ron Elliston - Orchestra Conductor

Dr. Elliston received both his B.A. in Music Education and an M.A. in Music Supervision from the University of Northern Colorado. In 1978, he received a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance from the University of Oregon. He has spent 50 years teaching and directing band, choir, strings and brass from grades six through university. As a professional trumpeter he has performed with groups such as Doc Severinsen, Les Elgart, The Supremes, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Greeley Philharmonic and the Denver Businessman's Orchestra. Ron has conducted several theater productions including Bend in the River as well as Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat.

"This Savior of the World production has been not only uplifting but impressive to see the dedication that has come out of the orchestra members' testimony driven commitment. Working with the orchestra has strengthened my own testimony of Jesus, and the Gospel truths He has given us to live by. This production has been a positive, spiritually fulfilling experience".

David Bolden - Director

David is a local business owner and voice actor/narrator for audio books. He is also an award winning choreographer and dancer. He has appeared in numerous theatrical productions, worked in radio and motion pictures, but is most proud of the opportunity to serve his Heavenly Father by bringing to life the gospel of Jesus Christ. Great thanks to our talented cast and crew who work so hard to make this production possible but greatest praise and thanks to our Lord and Savior of the World to whom we dedicate this presentation.

"Savior of the World is the culmination of nearly two years of planning and hard work. So much had to happen to make this event possible, which did not seem like a possibility at first; we owe much to miracles and humble dedication of devoted Christians. Thank you all for coming. We hope you enjoy and are filled with the Spirit."

Our Cast

Megan Croker- Mary
Theater has been a part of Megan's life since she could crawl onto a stage. She began with Missoula Children's Theater and continued in many local school productions. After high school she attended the John Robert Powers vocational school for actors and models.
"The Savior Of The World production has blessed my life in ways I did not expect. I have never been more grateful to be involved in a production and am humbled at the opportunity to play the role of Mary. It is very clear to see the hand of the Lord in this production. My heart swells each time I am surrounded by this cast coming together with dedication, mutual love for the Savior, serving and testifying of Him through this production."

Dona Wahl- Assistant Director

Dona's love of music began early as a child in a musical family. She served as an alto in her family's double quartet that performed all over Montana. She later joined the Sweet Adeline's performing across the United States. Dona performed in Blues Chorale in Las Vegas for 5 years and assembled a boys and girl's choir that performed with headliners on the Las Vegas Strip. Dona taught singing and dance to a large children's performing group that traveled across Montana, as well as directing 350 children to perform for the Marie Osmond Show.

"Of all the things I have done in my life musically, Savior of the World is the best of all because it is for Heavenly Father.  This is a thing of love!"

Kathleen Sasnett- Musical Director & Elizabeth
Dr. Sasnett holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Performance from Ohio State University and was a tenured assistant professor of voice and opera at Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania. Kathleen has performed in numerous leading roles in opera, as well as musical theater in the United States, Italy, Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

"This inspired music has brought me closer to Heavenly Father and blesses me with His Spirit as it runs through my soul continually. This expressive music helps me feel of His vast love for me and for each one of us. There is nothing like singing; it is a personal, vulnerable giving of oneself in such a beautiful art form and is such a gift to us.

Troy Clark- Cleopas
Troy is the oldest of seven children in a very musical family. He has been involved with numerous choirs and singing groups throughout his life, though this is his first acting role. He has two CD’s of original music which he wrote, recorded and produced.  He plays the piano, trumpet and guitar.

"I really had no idea the magnitude of what were undertaking as a cast, crew and committee. During the last several months, I have had the pleasure of feeling the Holy Ghost bear witness to me in countless ways and on countless occasions that what we are portraying happened.  Jesus is the Living Christ. He suffered for each of us individually and collectively. He knows each one of us personally. I know he lives. I celebrate in His resurrection, example, grace, love, kindness and mercy. Come to Him and feel His love."

Letter from the Director

Thank you for your interest in Savior of the World: His Birth and Resurrection!

Savior of the World was first presented in 2000 for the inauguration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Conference Center Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was first performed as a testimony of the Savior on the second millennial anniversary of His birth and has been presented annually since.

We are pleased to bring this beautiful production to the Pacific Northwest.

We offer our community the chance to experience Savior of the World's beautiful music and compelling testimony.

We invite all who have a desire to share in this experience by lending their time, talents, and testimonies to presenting these materials. We welcome all ages and skill levels to join us for an experience certain to change lives, strengthen testimonies, and inspire both individuals and families. For me, the musical score stands out as an inspired masterpiece and lends itself to the peace and hope that is the message of Easter. It is my prayer that you will find joy in sharing this amazing story and find a deeper testimony of Jesus Christ; the light, hope, and Savior of the world.
